Becoming a Health Coach has set me up for the future
Siân Elizabeth – Health Coach Graduate
I now have a rewarding and flexible career that gives me the freedom to live life on my terms.
What did you do before studying at CNM?
Prior to studying at CNM, I worked as a Police Community Support Officer. Having worked within the Police Force for 13 years, and within that time, having grown my interest in health and wellbeing, I knew I needed to make a change. I felt my future was in the health and wellness field, so I decided to embark on a journey that would not only support my own health, but allow me to help change the lives of others too.
What made you want to become a Health Coach?
Health and wellbeing have been an important part of my life for a long time. Having lost my mum to cancer at a young age and then experiencing years of my own physical and emotional issues, I embarked on my own health journey and I’m now thriving. So, great health and happiness is something I’m very passionate about – my own experiences have driven me to want to help others to improve their lives too. Studying at CNM has also allowed me to future-proof my career by creating stability and security in an industry that has a very bright future – I’m very excited about it!
What attracted you to the Health Coach course?
Being able to study CNM’s Health Coach course online, in my own time, meant I could fit in my learning journey around my full-time job and running a small business. Having spoken to past CNM students and looked into the college and the course itself, I just knew studying at CNM was the right decision for me – and it was! I feel so at home within CNM and I’m grateful for all the quality education and great support they have provided me.
What did you enjoy most about the CNM Health Coach training?
I love how the course focuses on multiple areas of a person’s health, not just one, although my favourite part of the course was ‘how the body works’! I found it so fascinating and I learnt so much. The lecturer Bobby Qureshi was wonderful and he delivered the lessons so well. Being dyslexic, I worried about how I would manage to get through the course, but even though it is in depth and has educated me so much, everything was explained perfectly. It was delivered in a really clear and digestible way, whilst providing so much valuable education.
How has studying the Health Coach diploma changed your life?
Not only have I gained so much knowledge to support the health of my family, myself and my clients, becoming a Health Coach has really set me up for the future. A future where I get the freedom to live life on my own terms, and create a stable yet exciting future for myself and my family.
What are you doing now that you are qualified?
I run my own Health Coaching business called Renew Holistic Health. I work with 1:1 clients and also offer corporate wellness sessions and packages. I’m currently developing a 6-week group coaching programme as a self-paced online course. I feel it is really important to be able to offer different options to people seeking health and lifestyle support, to make health coaching accessible to everyone.
What do you love about being a Health Coach?
I absolutely love that I get to empower others daily to make positive changes to their health and lifestyle. To enable my clients to thrive and create a bright, happy and healthy future for them and their families is so rewarding. There is nothing better than seeing the smile on people’s faces when they start making improvements and seeing results. There is nothing more important to me than great health. It’s the foundation of life!
